Dorms for adults

Updated November 16, 2023

Key deposit accepted beginning July 6

A key deposit of $250 will be required for all participants staying in the dorms. We’ll contact you at least one week prior to your arrival at SJW with instructions on how to submit your deposit through your SJW online account. Key deposits must be received before you arrive. We will not be able to take credit card deposits before July 10 as credit card authorizations only stay active for a limited amount of time. The deposit is only an authorization – your credit card will not be charged unless we notify you that your key has been reported missing by Stanford Housing. The authorization on your card will automatically expire after our programs end. Please note that you may see a pending hold on your bank statement until the authorization automatically expires.

Resident check-in/check-out notification due June 15

Residents have the option to check-out on Friday evening after classes or Saturday morning. Stanford Housing personnel will be available at a table in front of Braun Music Center. Please notify us as far in advance about which day you will be checking out by emailing us at [email protected].

Key return policy

All keys are due to the housing office representatives no later than 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. If keys are not returned by that time, Stanford will re-key your room and the $250 key deposit will be charged to your account. It is very important to collect and keep your key receipt when you turn in your keys. If there are any mistakes, the receipt will serve as proof that you have returned your key and will prevent you from being charged for a lost key.

All keys must be returned directly to Stanford Housing — not to SJW counselors or office staff. SJW counselors and staff will not be responsible for any lost keys.
