Daniel Rotem

Saxophone – Jazz Institute, Advanced Package

Daniel Rotem is a member of SJW’s 2016/17 Mentor Fellow program. Born and raised in Israel, Daniel studied at Thelma Yellin High School and the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Tel Aviv, and was the youngest student to be awarded first place in Rimon’s Outstanding Jazz Player Competition. Daniel received a full scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, from which he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance in December 2013.

Daniel is currently a member of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance Master Program Class of 2016, studying at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, Los Angeles. As a member of the Monk Institute Ensemble Daniel studied with jazz legends Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Kenny Burrell, Jimmy Heath, Billy Childs, and many more. Daniel’s debut album “Be Nice” is anticipated to be released during the summer of 2016.
