Dahveed Behroozi

eturning to his native Bay Area to teach jazz at San Jose State University after making a name for himself on the New York jazz scene, pianist Dahveed Behroozi brings a wealth of musical experience to the SJW faculty.

Focused on jazz, classical, and new music, he is an active player both as a leader and sideman in the Bay Area, nationally, and internationally. He has performed and recorded with Tyshawn Sorey, Billy Mintz, Dayna Stephens, and Loren Stillman, among many others. In 2012, Dahveed released his first record Games with bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Tim Bulkley.

Dahveed received his BA from the Manhattan School of Music, and a Masters from the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College. He currently serves on the faculty of Gavilan College and San Jose State University.
