Trumpet – Giant Steps Big Band for Middle School Coaching Faculty

Michael Galea is a trumpet player born and raised in San Mateo, CA. In 2016, Michael graduated from University of the Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies where he received a scholarship to play lead trumpet for the Pacific Jazz Ensemble. While studying at Pacific, Michael primarily studied jazz trumpet with Tom Peron but, also had to privilege to study with Patrick Langham, Leonard Ott, Jamie Dubberly, Gerald Pineda, and many others. Michael currently freelances all around the Bay Area playing lead, jazz, classical and other styles of trumpet. As a performer, Michael has had the opportunity to perform with Steve Allee (piano), Paul Young (trombone), Ed Simon (piano), Jamie Baum (flute), Peter Erskine (drums), Stefon Harris (vibraphone), Duane Lawerence (vocals), Greg Yasinitsky (saxophone) and many others.
