Donate stock or securities

To donate stock, please contact Mark Hernandez at 650-419-7721 or [email protected]. Shares can be transferred to our account at Charles Schwab & Co.  The value of a stock gift is the average of the high and low trading values on the date of transfer. The date of transfer is the date on which the shares reach SJW’s account when transferred electronically or the postmark date when sent by mail.

Matching gifts

Many employers offer a matching gift program, doubling or even tripling contributions made by their employees, employees’ family members, retired employees, and board members. Contact your Human Resources department for more information. Matching gifts count toward Groovement benefit levels.

Legacy gifts

Like any good jazz arrangement, legacy giving enables everyone to soar: you and your loved ones may enjoy tax or income advantages while the students, teachers, and performers of Stanford Jazz Workshop receive critical support. Here are two things you can do today:

• If you are at least 701⁄2 years old, make a qualified charitable distribution from your tax-deferred IRA. By transferring funds directly from your IRA to Stanford Jazz Workshop, you can satisfy required minimum distributions for the year and enjoy advantages compared to taking a taxable distribution and then contributing the proceeds.
• Name Stanford Jazz Workshop as a beneficiary in your will, trust, life insurance policy, retirement account, or other estate plan. Let us know about your plans by completing and returning our simple, non-binding agreement.

Another way to help us now and in the years to come is to contribute to our Endowment Fund. Your gift, subject to certain minimums and conditions, will be invested, and the annual return will fund key programs.

The Jim Nadel Society honors people who have included Stanford Jazz Workshop in legacy giving plans, or who have contributed to our Endowment Fund.

Did you buy tickets, but are unable to attend. Let us know in advance so we can re-sell the ticket, and your purchase price will be converted to a tax-deductible donation.
