SJW Welcomes Development Director Mark Hernandez
“Live music means togetherness and a way to be in the world,” remarks Mark Hernandez. “I know this in my bones, having spent decades as a performer, teaching artist, community organizer, and fundraiser. Today, more than ever, we need live music. I want to do my part.”
In his career, Mark has worked for organizations focused on workforce development, culture bearers, marginalized communities, LGBTQ+ mental health, and more. He served as our Development Director from 2016 to 2019, and we are delighted to announce that he is back.
“Stanford Jazz Workshop is second to none in terms of quality, integrity, and fiscal responsibility,” he continues. “Having the chance to contribute to its next fifty years with Cory Combs, and a committed board, staff, and community of supporters, is a singular opportunity.” Mark looks forward to connecting with you in the weeks and months to come, and you can contact him any time at [email protected].
“Many people think, ‘Oh boy, it’s that guy about the donations.’ But there’s more to it,” Mark muses. “It is my job to show how Stanford Jazz Workshop can help to bring about the change in the world that you want to see. Our future holds new and groundbreaking opportunities. What can we accomplish together? Let’s find out.”
Welcome back, Mark!
