April 15
Returning Student Discount Deadline
Students who have previously enrolled in any SJW program receive a $50 discount on tuition for any 2026 summer program. To receive the discount, you must complete your enrollment by April 15, 2026.
April 15
Financial aid deadline for all summer programs
All financial aid materials must be received by this date.
After you register, you will receive details on how to submit the required documents along with templates. The required documents are:
- A student essay
- A letter of recommendation from a music teacher or band director
- The first page of your family’s most recent Form 1040
- A signed affirmation that the information is accurate
April 30
Full Refund Deadline
This is the final day to cancel your enrollment and receive a full refund. The deposit is non-refundable.
Final payment deadline
You can log in to your SJW online account to make payments at any time.
- If you register before April 30: You can pay a deposit to hold your spot, but the full balance is due by April 30.
- If you register after April 30: The full payment is due immediately when you register.
June 1
Instrument Usage Request Deadline
If you would like to use an SJW-provided instrument, please email [email protected] by June 1. The usage fee is due one week after we confirm instrument availability.
June 15
Placement Recording/Theory Evaluation Deadline
All instrumentalists enrolled in Giant Steps Day Camp, Giant Steps Two-Week Program, Jazz Camp, Jazz Camp Two-Week Program, Jazz Institute, or Advanced Two-Week Program, must submit an audio recording and theory evaluation. Faculty use these recordings and evaluations to place you in the right ensembles and classes for your level.
Note: Jazz Institute or Advanced Two-Week Program enrollees can use their program audition recordings for their placement evaluations.
June 15
50% Refund Deadline
This is the final day to cancel your enrollment and receive a 50% refund. The deposit is non-refundable. There is no refund after 6/15.
Deadline to register: Two weeks before first day of program
If you’re registering after June 10, evaluations, placement materials, and auditions must be submitted as soon as possible after registering.
Late registrations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
