New York-based pianist, composer, and educator Caili O’Doherty presents Suite for Gearóidín, a deeply personal 13-part suite dedicated to her late mother. Originally composed as a source of comfort and healing during her mother’s long battle with cancer, this poignant work traces a journey through love, loss, resilience, and remembrance. Each movement unfolds as a vivid emotional landscape, from tender, intimate melodies to soaring, cathartic improvisations, offering listeners a deeply reflective and moving experience.

Performed by the Caili O’Doherty Quartet, Suite for Gearóidín was made possible with support from Chamber Music America’s New Jazz Works program, funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.

A nationally recognized artist, O’Doherty has received awards for piano performance and composition from the ASCAP Foundation and DownBeat Magazine. This powerful and heartfelt performance is not just a tribute—it’s an invitation to connect through the universal language of music.
