Kilan Thorns is from Sacramento, California and joins SJW’s faculty for the first time as a member of the Mentor Fellowship program. Kilan attended California State University at Northridge as a jazz studies major in 2016.
Kilan has played and performed at various venues, competitions, and locations, all while pursuing higher education at the same time. Performing in numerous cities and working with a plethora of notable musicians in the LA and surrounding areas, Kilan also teaches/runs the Valencia High School and the Castaic High School Jazz Programs located in Santa Clarita Valley.
Whether it be performing jazz trombone or teaching, Kilan continues to expand and reach out to those who pursue musical expression and craftsmanship, looking to help out anyway he’s able to.
