Outreach

Stanford Jazz Workshop offers assistance and support to public and charter school music departments around the Bay Area and beyond throughout the year. We offer a wide range of support for jazz educators and their programs, including clinics on improvisation, master classes in instrumental or vocal technique, big band performance tune-ups, and on-site jazz educator in service training. Ongoing clinics and sessions can be arranged as well. SJW faculty and staff work with school program staff to tailor presentations and clinics to the unique needs of the students. Often we can offer this support to school programs at no charge.

We also work closely with instructors at individual jazz programs to help provide scholarship support for deserving students to attend our summer jazz immersion programs.
