Bruce Forman and Cow Bop
Improbably awesome cowboy jazz.
When bebop guitar virtuoso Bruce Forman took beloved country crooner Pinto Pammy and three other cowboy jazzers on a wild, cross-country romp of Route 66 he had no idea he was creating a strange and wonderful new genre. Cow Bop is the masterful blend of western swing and brilliant jazz soloing that is always uplifting and never too hick for the room. David Wise on sax and trumpet takes you from the streets of New Orleans to the sweetest sounds found on the range or the asphalt. Put that on top of a rhythm section of Tino Tafarella, bass, and Ryan McDiarmid, drums, that are as swingin’ and rockin’ as a rodeo bronc but as sure-footed as a prized pack mule and you get something you never thought you’d love. World-renowned six-string groundbreaker Forman has taken “Count Basie on horseback” all over the world to boot-stomping, finger-popping (and critical) acclaim.
