Pianist-accordionist Sam Reider presents Spaghetti, where diverse strands of American music—from jazz and folk to contemporary vibes—come together in a creative, interwoven tapestry. A Latin GRAMMY-nominated innovator, Reider reimagines timeless traditions with playful ingenuity.

Pianist and accordionist Sam Reider weaves a vibrant musical tapestry in Spaghetti, where jazz, folk, and contemporary sounds intertwine in playful and unexpected ways. A Latin GRAMMY-nominated innovator, Reider brings a fresh, genre-blurring approach to timeless traditions, reimagining them with boundless creativity and rhythmic ingenuity.

Originally trained as a jazz pianist, Reider has built a dynamic career composing original music and collaborating with a wide range of jazz, roots, and classical artists, including Jon Batiste, Jorge Glem, Sierra Hull, Laurie Lewis, and Paquito D’Rivera. His 2022 solo piano album Petrichor earned four stars and a Best of 2022 nod from DownBeat Magazine, while his collaboration with Glem, Brooklyn-Cumaná, was featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk and nominated for Best Instrumental Album at the 2023 Latin GRAMMY Awards.

Beyond the stage, Reider is a prolific composer whose work has been performed by ensembles like the Del Sol Quartet, the San Francisco Girls Chorus, and GRAMMY-nominated violinist Tessa Lark. He also brings his passion for music to education, serving on the faculty at Saint Mary’s College of Moraga, where he teaches jazz, piano, and composition.

Don’t miss this electrifying performance as Reider takes you on a genre-defying musical journey, fusing past and present with masterful artistry and infectious energy.

“His musical writing is so vivid… wearing familiar tropes with bespoke panache… [his] virtuosity more than brought the music to life”

– Andrew Gilbert (SFCV)
