Brazilian pianist and vocalist Eliane Elias has pushed the boundaries of jazz, performing and recording with artists such as Randy Brecker, Herbie Hancock, Eddie Gomez, Peter Erskine, Jack DeJohnette, Toots Thielemans, Bob Brookmeyer, and many others. A formidable composer and arranger, she’s received Grammy nominations for her own notable recordings such as Solos & Duets, Bossa Nova Stories, Impulsive!, and others. Her astonishing vocals have been showcased on her recordings Bossa Nova Stories, Around the City, and Dreamer. Eliane’s music encompasses swing, bebop, bossa, samba, and much more.
In this special members-only event, KCSM DJ and noted jazz expert Dick Conte engages Eliane Elias in a conversation about her artistry, music, and career that promises to be as entertaining as it will be edifying.
