Peter John Stoltzman and Friends: New Standards
A great young pianist updates the jazz repertoire.
Pianist and composer Peter John Stoltzman is, quite simply, a monster jazz pianist. In his brilliant playing, you’ll hear echoes of the great artists with whom he’s mentored, such as Bob Brookmeyer, Charlie Banacos, and Joanne Brackeen. But Peter’s pianism is unique, his ideas clear, and his music is swinging: The repertoire for this special performance will be all-new arrangements of songs that you may not have considered to be jazz before, but Peter and this first-rate band of SJW faculty artists will convince you that these songs will be the next jazz standards.
