Luigi Grasso

Saxophone – Jazz Camp Week 2, Advanced Package, Jazz Camp Package

JW is very happy to welcome Paris-based jazz saxophonist Luigi Grasso and his guitarist brother Pasquale to the Jazz Camp faculty for the first time. Luigi was a sensation on the saxophone before he was a teenager, and he released his first recording when he was just 13. Barry Harris took Luigi and his brother Pasquale under his wing following one of his European jazz workshops, and Luigi was soon working as Barry’s teaching assistant, a position he held for eight years.

Luigi is one of the busiest jazz artists in Europe, as a band leader and as a sideman with such great contemporary artists as China Moses, NDR Big Band, Joan Chamorro & Sant Andreu Jazz Band, Alain Jean-Marie, Pierre Boussaguet, Ignazi Terasa, Rossano Sportiello, Géraud Portal, Michel Pastre Big Band, and many others. He’s also a highly successful composer.
