America’s most powerful blues storyteller.
Keb’ Mo’
America’s most powerful blues storyteller.
Three-time Grammy winner and visionary roots-music storyteller Keb’ Mo’ defines the line where Americana meets the blues. But he’s an unlikely blues hero. No one was more surprised than he when his songs were recorded by B.B. King, Joe Cocker, and the Dixie Chicks. And he’s still amazed that superstars like Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Brown tap him to share the stage. Two decades ago, the young Kevin Moore was failing gloriously in his full-court press to get his jazz/pop/soul-flavored sound through the LA star-making machinery. Down and out, he came under the tutelage of guitarist Charles “Charlie Tuna” Dennis who schooled him in the many ways of the blues: Delta, Chicago, soul, Texas, and more. Today Keb’ records TV theme songs, acts in major TV and film dramas and tours the world spreading his deeply personal and universal musical message. His songs are gripping and gritty, filled with heartache and joy. Keb’s big and throaty vocal magic is the contemporary reinvention of America’s first music, and his guitar chops are legendary.
