eather Rivas is a pianist/composer based out of Los Angeles. She is a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where she studied Performance and Music Business. She currently attends California Institute of the Arts for her MFA in Jazz Studies.

In her first year at Berklee she put together her own trio, the Rivas Trio, and performed in Los Angeles and Boston. In addition, she has toured with jazz trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, performed at the Playboy Jazz Festival, and has performed for the former Secretary of State, Madeline Albright. Heather has played piano and percussion in the 2014 Disneyland All American College Band, and has been able to perform with highly acclaimed trumpeter Wayne Bergeron and world-renowned bassist John Clayton.

Through Berklee, Heather has been a part of many different projects that have combined her passions. She is the co-founder of the band, Her Say, and was an Executive Campus Ambassador for the Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business where she created a Women’s Empowerment event on Berklee’s campus. Upon graduating Berklee, Heather released her solo EP entitled Licorice on June 30th, 2017. This debut is the first showcase of her own compositions and how they fuse together the styles of music that influence her.

Currently, Heather is the pianist for artist Tonina Saputo with whom she has toured and performed throughout the U.S. and Europe.
