Trombone – Jazz Camp


composer and an SJW alumnus in addition to being a fantastic trombonist and teacher, Brama Sukarma lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he freelances and composes for film, theatre, dance, and chamber orchestra.

Brama grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he played in groups led by organizations such as LJYE, SFJAZZ, Monterey Jazz, The Jazzschool, and San Jose Jazz, as well as leading his own ensembles at venues such as The Jazzschool and San Jose Jazz Festival.

Brama attended New York University, and studied with Vijay Iyer, Ralph Alessi, Andy Milne, Mark Patterson, and many other great artists. He studied composition with David Del Tredici and the Cty College of New York. With his his project Indo Dhans, Brama recently released the album Dreams From Another Coast.
