Make the World a Better Place: Support Stanford Jazz Workshop

In jazz everyone’s voice counts.

Sometimes you stand out, and sometimes you help the person next to you say something great. When everyone does his or her part — when everything clicks — all is right with the world.

By supporting Stanford Jazz Workshop, you make possible the best in jazz education and performance:

  • Summer immersion camps and after-school programs for hundreds of young people from all walks of life
  • Substantial financial aid and scholarship support for those who need it the most
  • Performances featuring artists you want to see
  • Much-needed employment for Bay Area jazz performers and teachers

We love our musicians — from the student just picking up an instrument to the jazz legend gracing our stage. We love what we do. We’re good at it. And we rely on you. With your help, we can soar even higher.

You can play your part. You can help everything click. You can make the world a better place.

Like any good jazz arrangement, legacy giving enables everyone to soar: you and your loved ones may enjoy tax or income advantages while the students, teachers, and performers of Stanford Jazz Workshop receive critical support. Here are two things you can do today:

  • If you are at least 701⁄2 years old, make a qualified charitable distribution from your tax-deferred IRA. By transferring funds directly from your IRA to Stanford Jazz Workshop, you can satisfy required minimum distributions for the year and enjoy advantages compared to taking a taxable distribution and then contributing the proceeds.
  • Name Stanford Jazz Workshop as a beneficiary in your will, trust, life insurance policy, retirement account, or other estate plan. Let us know about your plans by completing and returning our simple, non-binding agreement.

Another way to help us now and in the years to come is to contribute to our Endowment Fund. Your gift, subject to certain minimums and conditions, will be invested, and the annual return will fund key programs.

The Jim Nadel Society honors people who have included Stanford Jazz Workshop in legacy giving plans, or who have contributed to our Endowment Fund.
